Harati for Tirumala hills on 5th May, 2012

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Tirupati Kendra has come up with a novel idea of giving daily 'Harathi' to the imposing Tirumala Hills, considered the abode of Lord Venkateswara. This will be akin to the 'Nitya Harathi' given to River Ganga by hundreds of devotees standing on its banks in Rishikesh, Haridwar and other places.

Spreading message

Referring to the belief that 'Maha Yogis' like 'Konkana Siddha' attained siddhi at the hills. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is keen on spreading the message that the area is vibrant with the micro presence of spiritual savants.

"As per 'Kundalini serpentine power', the Seven Hills of Tirumala viz., Seshadri, Vrushabhadri, Anjanadri, Narayanadri, Neeladri, Garudadri and Venkatadri are shaped the spinal cord, holding several points of power in them, which has to be worshipped. Bhagawad Ramanuja used to climb the hills every time on his knees, feeling that stepping foot on it would be a sacrilegious act.
