Kartheeka Gnanamrutham - 2006

The Bhavan's Tirupati Kendra organized "Kartheeka Gnanamrutham" a two day series of discourses on Spiritualism for the first time in Tirupati on 27th October, 2006 and 28th October, 2006. Dr N K Ramaseshan, a renowned scholar and author from Mysore delivered first day lecture on the "Contributions of Haridasas of Karnanatka and Other Devotional Movements of South" and second day lecture on "Keertanas of Haridasas - Impact of Society & Relevance of Dasa Sahitya As on Date".

On the first day, the programme began with the inauguration of the Kartheeka Gnanamrutham by Dr N K Rama Seshan. Dr N Satyanarayana Raju, Hony. Director of the Kendra welcomed the speaker and guests and ensured that 'Kartheeka Gnanamrutham' will be arranged every year in the month of Kartheeka with the purpose of advocating spiritual knowledge.

Dr N K Rama Seshan in his two-day talk significantly recounted the contributions Haridasas with reference to the Lord of Tirumala and evidently established the backdrop of the historical movement of Bakti in the south, intermittently relating the movements of North India. The comparison of thought and expression of Dasas of Karnataka and their eminent contemporaries of Andhra and Tamilnadu was effectively illustrated with number of examples from their verses and songs.

At the end of the second day programme, Dr Vidya Sagar, Dr P Sudhakara Reddy & Dr N Satyanarayana Raju honoured Dr N K Rama Seshan and Sri P Rama Hanuman,Principal of the Bhavan's school proposed the vote of thanks.
