Kartheeka Gnanamrutham - 2018

'Karthika Masam' is one of the most auspicious months in the lunar calendar. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra organized a twin-day Spiritual Discourse on 26th November,2018 and 27th November, 2018 for the students and staff with the objectives of imparting spiritual and cultural values. Speaking on the occasion Dr N. Satyanarayana Raju, Hon. Director & Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, said that Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan incessantly strives to promote Indian Cultural and Heritage and the main aim to organize programmes like Karthika Gnanamrutham is to sow the seeds of knowledge at the young age as cornea is instilled with inner power. On the first day, 26th November 2018, the day's guest Shri Samudrala Lakshmanaiah, Director, Puranethihasa Project, T.T.D. explain how all the months in the lunar calendar were named and told about the significance of karthika month. He expounded that the nectar of knowledge helps human beings in attaining eternal knowledge and enlightment of soul. Relating to a few anecdotes from Indnmythology, he highlighted the importance of forest and wild life and said that one should live in harmony with nature.

On the second day, 27th November, 2018 the days Guest Swami Anupamanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Tirupati, in his discourse explicitly discussed about our country's great spiritual legacy and we should try for its sustenance. He said that our scriptures preach us to hold on to Dharma and lead righteous life. It gives courage to tackle all the difficulties and emerge victorious. He told the students that education is not just a few sets of information but bringing transformation in a person through self realization. He advised the students to pray the Lord, learn the subjects, to distance from the evil and do good to others. By following these principles they can reach greater heights.

The guests were felicitated by Dr N. Satyanarayana Raju and Prof. P. Sudhakara Reddy, and other dignitaries.

On the second day, 'Vana Aaradhana' was organized. On this occasion, students of Class VI and ECO club members participated in the activity with enthusiasm and trees such as Amla, Neem, Peepal, Bilva etc., were worshipped with reverence. Vanuradha was followed by 'Atmiya Sneh Sammelan'. It is an occasion where people of the community dine together a midst the nature in the sacred month of Karthika. Such event connects the modern society to nature and it is a good practice to pass on to next generation.

The Atmiya Sneh Sammelan was attended by Shri Samudrala Lakshmanaih, Dr Medasani Mohan, Swami Anupamanandaji, Bhavan's Executive Committee Members, School Managing Committee Members, Media and Eminent personalities of the town, Principal,Vice Principals and Staff.
