Sravana Sangeetha Lahari 2014

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra organised cultural festival of music and dance "Sravana Sangeetha Lahari" on 16th August, 2014 in the School Auditorium. The event was conducted to commemorate the month of 'Sravana' with the theme 'Pancha Bhootha Kshetras'. This also coincides with the Silver Jubilee Year of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra.

On this momentous occasion, Yoga and Skill Development Centre was inaugurated by Shri A.P.V.N. Sarma, IAS (Retd.), Advisor to H.E. Governor of Andhra Pradesh with the aim to train and empower youth in various skills like communication, computers, art and craft, yoga, etc., in and around Tirupati. Psychology Lab was inaugurated by Shri M.G. Gopal, I.A.S., Executive Officer, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, to assess and assist the students and teachers to investigate cognitive, perceptual and motor skills inyoung students and to promote overall personality development of an individual.

Sravana Sangeetha Lahari began with the Welcome Address by Dr. Alladi Mohan, Hon. Associate Secretary, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra. Shri M.G. Gopal garu and distinguished guests of the day lighted the lamp and inaugurated the function. In his speech, Dr. Nadimpalli Satyanarayana Raju, Hon. Director and Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, spoke about the history of BVB, Tirupati Kendra and the various activities organised by Tirupati Kendra with an objective of spreading ancient Indian way of learning(Sanatana Dharma). Shri P.V. Krishna Reddy, Executive Vice-Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, while addressing, appreciated the untiring efforts of Dr.N.Satyanarayana Raju garu in the success of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra.

During his address, Shri M.G. Gopal garu expressed his happiness for setting up Yoga and Skill Development Centre and Psychology Lab in the school to benefit the children and society. He saluted the founder of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Shri K.M. Munishiji and the cast and crew of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, for preserving and pursuing Indian culture. The Guest of Honour Sangita Kala Acharya & Padmasri Awardee Shri S.R.Janakiraman, renowned Musicologist, Former Head, Dept. of Musicology,S.V.College of Music, Tirupati, was felicitated by all the dignitories. In his address, he paid tributes to Saint Muthuswamy Deekshitar, for his compositions on Pancha Bhootha Kshetras.

In his address, Chief Guest of the Day, Shri A.P.V.N. Sarma garu stated that he was deeply impressed by the progress made by the institution in the past few years and applauded the activities being conducted in the institution like Aarathi to Venkatachala Hills after recitation of Vishnu Sahasranama after performing Homam on every Full Moon Day. He also appreciated the efforts of the institution in propagating abundant cultural values and ethics in the minds of younger generation which enables them to grow into responsible citizens.

The students paid homage to Saint Muthuswamy Deekshitar and other vaggeyakaras in praise of Lord Siva, an embodiment of five elements of nature in the form of music and dance. The participants captivated the audience with their spell binding performance.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks addressed by Prof.P.Sudhakara Reddy, Hon. Secretary, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra.
