As a part of promoting and propagating the rich Indian culture and heritage, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra organized a week long discourse on Aamuktamalyada Prasangalahari (Sri Krishnadevaraya Saranagathi) from 23rd March, 2015 to 29th March, 2015 at Sri Annamacharya Kalamandir, Tirupati.

The speaker of the Seven-day spiritual discourse, Dr Medasani Mohan is a versatile personality, author of nearly 120 books, orator par excellence with profound knowledge in Upanishads and puranas. In his welcome address, Dr N. Satyanarayana Raju, Hon. Director and Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, said that the guests of the day Dr Medasani Mohan and Dr D. Sambasiva Rao share a common point – Dr Medasani Mohan is influenced by the soil of Chandragiri and Dr Sambasiva Rao hails from Srikakulam, both the places were of utmost important in the life of Krishnadevaraya.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr N. Satyanarayana Raju expressed that Dr Medasani Mohan is receiving laudable appreciation from many scholars in and around the world. He added that the great treatise ‘Aamuktamalyada’ is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara by Krishnadevaraya and gave his consent to publish books on translations or commentaries on Aamuktamalyada, that aim to reach the common man

The guests were felicitated by Shri C. Kailash, Associate Secretary, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra and Dr Alladi Mohan, Associate Secretary, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, proposed Vote of Thanks.

Dr Medasani Mohan in his 7-day discourse highlighted the qualities of Krishnadevaraya as a great administrator, warrior and writer. Being a scholar by himself, Krishnadevaraya encouraged and honoured many great artists of his time. The speaker during his week-long discourse described the various facets and intricacies of the great treatise Aamuktamalyada, its essence in simple language, to reach the common man.

The series of discourses came to a close on 29thMarch, 2015. Dr N. Satyanarayana Raju, Hon. Director and Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra; Dr G. Munirathnam, General Secretary, RASS, Tirupati; Prof. P.V. Arunachalam, former Vice-Chancellor, Dravidian University, Kuppam graced the Valedictory Function.

While addressing the gathering Dr Medasani Mohan expressed his gratitude to the management of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, for the respect and affection showered on him and said that Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, is providing an excellent platform to recollect the famous verse ‘Aamuktamalyada’. He also stressed that he was blessed by Lord Venkateswara with knowledge in literature and ability to render thousands of slokas.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr G. Munirathnam, General Secretary, RASS, appreciated the efforts of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, in imbibing spirituality to the populace of the Temple Town. The speaker Dr Medasani Mohan was felicitated by Dr G. Munirathnam and the Members of the Bhavan’s Executive Committee.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Prof. P. Sudhakara Reddy, Secretary, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra. The denizens and distinguished personalities of the Temple Town and the staff attended the 7-day discourse with great spiritual fervour and made it a great success.
